Johanes is a Los Angeles and Bay Area based designer and stylist for Film, TV, and Commercials. His love for costumes and fashion began at the age of four, when he began sketching and making outfits for his hand-me-down Barbies. Johanes has always been fascinated by the power of design and how it enhances character work and world building.
His journey in film began as a pre-teen, directing and producing short films for his middle school’s theater arts department. While pursuing a B.A. in Cinema at San Francisco State University, Johanes began costuming short films and developed an interest in costume design. He connected with many passionate filmmakers whom he still works with closely today.
